Design Dept.
Brand Strategy, Brand Identity, Brand Environment

Training Loft initially came to Design Dept to help them design a marketing postcard. This small request soon turned into helping them define their brand from the ground up. Our first challenge was to make this boutique brand stand out in the flood of fitness studios existing in their crowded market. Our second challenge was to help our clients connect their new brand strategy to the day-to-day tasks of running a small business smoothly.

Over a period of two years, we transformed Training Loft from a local training studio into an elite boutique personal training experience in the heart of Los Angeles. We provided them with a positioning that elegantly married their fun and loving culture with a high-performance athletic mindset. Part of our duties working with this growing small business was to also help them navigate the worlds of social media marketing, consumer reviews, and search engine optimization.

We created numerous impactful marketing campaigns to attract new clients and created new wellness services in order to retain existing members. Perhaps of most significance, we created new fitness programming so that all members could track their progress in-studio.

“Combined with a strategic planning process, brilliant messaging and eye capturing design we could hyper target our marketing message and audience, saving us thousands of dollars in advertising spend in the process. The beautiful part about this was once you learn it, you learn it for life.”

“From a growth perspective we have had a 20% increase year on year since 2017, when we initially engaged Design Dept. I am also very proud to add that our goal was to open a second space on Melrose Avenue, which we have now achieved. Design Dept consulted with us every step of the way on our new and expanded Melrose location from site interior design direction to programming design, to marketing and everything in between.”
